What is the purpose of a groom's cake? I mean what is the meaning behind it? Anyone have pics of an NYPD cake?

Call Ilsa from Sugar, Sugar here on the boards! She can make anything. I have really enjoyed talking with her.

Re: Groom's cake
Originally, slices of groom's cake were handed out to guests at the wedding. It was believed if a single girl slept with the slice of cake under her pillow she would dream of her future husband.
Something like that - I think I'm close. The tradition really isn't still followed that way but many people offer it as an amusing alternative to the traditional white wedding cake. The Groom's cake is traditionally a dark chocolate or devil's food cake ( go figure!)

I really want to do one, depending on costs...either for RD or wedding!
