Lol, I've been super busy all week and haven't been on this site, so I'm posting a million questions today. I slacked off with the grooms cake. I really want to get a 3D cake for the RD. I emailed a few people that were recommended to me and so far the responses I've gotten is that they are already booked (since I'm only 5 weeks away) or way too expensive ($400 to feed 25 people). I emailed a lot of bakeries, but I think they will all be too expensive. Lady J is booked, does anyone know of any other people who work out of their home? I think that will probably be my least expensive option. I might end up needing to do a sheet cake with a topper for him but I kind of have my heart set on a 3D cake. Its going to be a surprise and I think he'd be really excited. Oh, since its a surprise, I'd need delivery to Nassau County too, so local would be best. If anyone knows anyone in the Long Beach or Oceanside area, I'd love to support local business (and save on delivery costs). Thanks!

Re: Grooms cake
What kind of cake do you want?
I got mine from Front Street Bakery in Rockville Centre. Got a hard hat that they said would feed about 25. We had 30 and left over cake. I did get edible images and paid a little less than $150. Our RD was in RVC so they included free shipping. Look at their fb and web page as they have a large selection of designs.

Grooms cake
My SIL's sister in law makes cakes at home. She is amazing with the fancy decorating. She lives in Wantagh... I'm not sure if she delivers. If you want her info. FM me.

Grooms cake
You can try Marcie's Cake Creations. She made DH's groom's cake and it came out great. I had used her before for other events. Her cakes are delicious as well. You can look her up on FB. I have a pic of his cake in my review.

Re: Grooms cake
The groom's cake I'm getting is being done by Wonderful Wedding Cakes in Glen Cove. I know it's not close to Oceanside, but they quoted me for feeding 30 people, at $225.
I have a friend who does cakes... https://www.facebook.com/AnGeeCakes She's out of Queens but she has a car so I'm sure she does deliveries. I'm not sure of the prices but she works out of her house. You can tell her that Janelle sent you.
OMG! I love her cakes! I just emailed her about a grooms cake! She's so talented!
ETA: Now that I'm looking on her FB page..I see we have friends in common and I just realized that she went to school with my brother! Haaa Small world!
