Groom's Cake Dilemma

Original post by diamondgrlie

I am starting to think that spending $150 on a groom's cake is a bit excessive. Nevermind the fact that the bakery I was working with is not returning my emails or phone calls. Do you think it is possible to make it myself? I mean, it wouldnt be in the shape of a car like I wanted but I can make a big sheet cake and decorate it with an NYPD theme. Where could I get little cop decorations? Thanks!

Sorry to bring this up again but I went to Costco last night and they dont do it. They only had the regular cakes that have icing designs...
What am I going to do?

I had to help out the hostess of a party once by picking up her kids cake.

yadda yadda she got it at the Carvel in Hicksville that is just south of holy trinity high school. They were able to put her kids picture on it.

Granted it is ice cream and you are getting married in the summer but if the restaurant can freeze it for you until you are ready that should be fine.
