Groom's cakes?

Groom's cakes?

Does everyone do a groom's cake? If so, do you let the groom chose what he wants his cake to be? Did you (bride who are married) have a groom's cake and was it worth it?

I am thinking of doing one but not sure if I plan to present it to him at the RD (which is the same week as the wedding) or at the RH. I keep vacillating on the issue.

I think if there's extra $$ in the budget it's a cute idea and i might try to get it for FH. It's usually very funny and it cracks the men up. Oh and it's usually a surprise. I think i'd do it at the RD.

I am doing one as a surprise to FH. Haven't decided if I am going to give it to him at the RD or reception but it's going to be in the shape of an XBox 360 (see my album for pic). I think I may end up doing it at the reception only because it will go perfectly with our cake topper for our wedding cake.

I haven't picked a place yet but I have gotten quotes from Cakes by Mona and Audrey's. It's all going to come down to who gives me the best price and taste.

I did, we did a yankee jersey for Dh. As for whether or not it was worth I would say no....yes DH liked it, but it wasn't something he was blown away by. I would have preferred to saved my $200 for something else.

I'm thinking of doing one at the reception. He has very very picky tastes and I don't want a plain wedding cake. So I figured I'd get him his own cake shaped like Mr. Met.
