Is there any bride out there whose fiance will not be wearing a traditional black tuxedo at their wedding? I just thought of this--I think it would be really nice to have my fiance wear something other than a tuxedo---and I was wondering what is the norm for groom's wedding attire. Have any of you had any luck convincing your fiances to wear something other than a tux??

Re: Groom's Wedding Attire
I tried my hardest to get my DH and his GMs to wear black or navy suits, but my DH insisted on wearing a tux (he apparently likes to play dress-up...what a girl! )
Anyway, it's very common these days (at least I know it is here in Boston) for grooms to wear suits or even the khaki pants and blue blazer combo depending on how fancy/casual the wedding is.

Re: Groom's Wedding Attire
my fbil wore a beige suit and his groomsmen wore khaki pants and short sleeved kind of hawaiian shirts, but they weren't bright colors, they were like a green...
it looked nice, it was a backyard wedding and 107 degrees that day. my fh was happy to be in a cool shirt

Re: Groom's Wedding Attire
well-we went the opposite direction and the groomsmen wore tails, (ultra formal)...but that was the look we were going for..sort of victorianish, old-school formal.
In fact, my husband would have worn a morning suit (generally a British tradition) if he could have. He just liked the look of it, but it would have looked ridiculous on him for a saturday night wedding.
