Are they supposed to match the BM dresses? If so, how do you make sure that happens?
I was told this is only still done for proms. They don't do cumberbuns either. My BMs laughed at me when I asked them. The GM's wear black ties and the groom wears white.
I have seen what both of you have described before. I don't think it's 'out' to have them match necessarily - and I didn't know anyone ever matched a prom dress to their date's tie before! The cumberbund is defffffffinitely not my style. I was thinking maybe a black tie for FH and matching ties for the GMs, but I dunno how I'd accomplish that and get an exact match if I wanted to do that.
I wouldn't be so matchy matchy. It's def not 'out.' But if you want them to match I would suggest them match the BM dresses to their handkerchief that goes in their pockets. I think you can get a swatch of the BM dresses to match that kind of stuff.

They dont have to match..ours were the same colors as the girls dresses but they wore solid black vests
