So I got myself into quite a little dilemma.... my flowergirl is my MOH's daughter. She was a flowergirl in another wedding a few weeks ago, and my MOH asked if she could use the same dress for my wedding. I agreed (without having seen the dress) because I know she doesn't have much money, and how bad could a flower girl dress possibly be?? Well, did I stick my foot in it! I absolutely hate it, but how do I tell my MOH (and oldest friend) that I don't want her little girl wearing that dress-since I already agreed-and being that my MOH was the one that picked it out, I don't want to hurt her feelings! It's just a little......much...for my taste!

Re: GROSS flower girl dress!!!!
If you are willing to buy one, I would just wait until the easter dresses go on sale and buy one of those and tell her you saw one you loved and couldn't resist. That way, you save a little $$ and you don't hurt her feelings

I would agree and tell her that it's not what you invisioned and would like to buy her one. However, I have to tell you I think it's adorable.

you know, i think lil girls look cute no matter what they wear! even if she wore it, i think it would be fine.
(if that were a bridemaid dress, that would be another story!!)

Re: GROSS flower girl dress!!!!
If they cannot afford another then I wouldn't mind her wearing that.
It probably looks a lot cuter on than in the pic.

Re: GROSS flower girl dress!!!!
Maybe you can tell her you found another dress that you just loved while online, in a store, whatever and you'd love it if her daugher would wear the dress (and you'd pay, of course). That might be a good way to deal with it without risking hurting her feelings (since she like the first dress so much)

Honestly, I'd tell her you were imaginingg something else, and offer to buy a new dress that's to your liking.
I totally agree
I agree. Maybe you can also say that you wanted to incorporate your BM color in the FG's dress - that's if you were going too?

you should have seen my FI face when I showed him the pic! And yes, like some of the other girls here said, there's really not much that a little 5 year old will look bad in, but my whole wedding is about simple and classic....and well...that dress surely is far from simple! I think the idea of having her look like me is great (thanks!) and I think I'm going to check out some dresses that match mine. I'll keep you posted!

Re: GROSS flower girl dress!!!!
It make look like a little much in that picture but I'm sure she'll look precious with it on. A little girl in a white dress? I don't think you could really go wrong........... However, if you're totally dead set against the frilly dress, offer to pay for her to wear the one you had in mind. That way she doesn't have to pay anything extra and you get her in what you want.

Re: GROSS flower girl dress!!!!
Here is a suggestion. Have you considered maybe having it altered to what you want? If not defently pay or help her pay for another dress. Easter is comming and their are a lot of really cute dresses at department stores for a fair price. I hope this helps.

Re: GROSS flower girl dress!!!!
That came off ebay probably, look on ebay for Flower Girl dresses if she can't afford to buy anything pricey...
My cousin bought this for 14.99
Then I bought the David's Bridal Peridot Sash on ebay BNWT for 2.25 instead of 14.99 to go with the dress.. This way everyone is happy ..
Just put Flower Girl Dress in the search

Re: GROSS flower girl dress!!!!
You could always say...you were hoping y our FG's dress would be similiar in style to yours....so she would look like a mini bride.....and based on that, I would offer to buy a new dress. You can get a beautiful dress for $100. JMO
