Gross question....

Original post by conigs25

Im not talking about Colonics. Im talking about all natural pills from like GNC or something.

I think we're talking about different things here.

Michelle - did you want to know about naturally cleansing or having colonics?

B/c Colonics is when you go to the 'PLACE' and they have you lay down, and stick a tube up your 'BEEP' and suck everything out....

I didn't go to the bathroom after that. I actually got it done after work, and was out of there in an hour, and had no problems whatsoever.

I did it before...not only is it good for weight loss but its healthy to do it once in a while...cleanses your system completely...kind of uncomfortable though...

By the way, this is an OLD remedy...

ETA: And by the way, it is not true that you will be in the bathroom all day long. It cleanses you out immediately on the spot.

I don't believe a word Bill O'Reilly says. He's the biggest liar out there.

And I think anyone promoting any health solution has to give some kind of disclaimer. If you read Vitamins and other stuff they tell you to consult a doctor and that it's not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease.

I haven't read the book, but I'm pretty sure O'Lie-ly took it out of context. He propably has stock in pharmaceuticals.

I couldnt agree more. I HATE Bill OReilly

My friend Gina got it done before she took a colonoscopy test. If you do it, make sure you take a day off of work because you will be in the bathroom ALL DAY LONG.

I couldn't agree with this more! I had a colonoscopy and spent the whole day in the bathroom! Thank goodness no one else was home!

I too had a colonoscopy a yr or so ago bc i have awful stomach problems and i did the Fleets. I just wanna do it again bc it was so...well...cleansing

i have never done it - but they say it good for your body.
but i know from others that have done it - you will be in the bathroom for days. if your going to do it - do it when you have plenty of time to kill.

Re: Gross question....

I have never had one, but be careful of colonics. although they do remove toxins from your body and also make you lose weight, they also take out essential nutrients that your body needs. Having one colonic is fine, but don't have too many. They can be very dangerous (like taking laxatives on a regular basis)

My aunt uses them all the time... she swears by them.

Why, I have no clue.

AND he was banned from infomercials because of his claims. he is allowed to market books, but not products. he's banned from marketing products on tv.

****
the reason why he is banned from infomericals is b/c of some coral fat bloacking product- and FYI he spent 2 years in Jail for FRAUD!

I saw it on channel 7 news

He has no background in medicine- and he mis- quotes Tammy faye Baker about her cancer- she is getting chemo right now

He is using the first admendment to sell books- He doesn't care about helping people- he cares about making money- just like the drug companies- I don't see how he is better- JMO

Your body absorbs the nutrients and vitamins before it even hits your intestine (end of colon), where the colonic routine targets.

It removes any residual of what your body has not been able to digest and cannot excrete from your BUNGHOLE.

People have been doing it for years, it's just now receiving 'notability' b/c the famous folks brought it to the forefront and discuss it a lot more openly.

It shouldn't be used as a weight loss treatment but a cleansing treatment.

How much does it cost? I seen DAvid Navaro get it done on VH1 when him and Carmen electra had their reality show on.

Anywhere from $100 - $300 - as far as in NYC and the places I've looked into and used.

like o'reilly or not, this guys a quack. if you want to follow his 'treatments' be my guest!

do whatever makes you happy and feel healthy. there's nothing wrong with holistic medicine, but i'm not a believer in this guy.

my opinion is also that the 'stuff' that stays in your body isn't harmful, but that's my opinion.

well just remember, Americans eat more trans-fats and processed foods and sugar. I do believe that it has long term effects if you dont take care of your body.
I had never heard of the guy though that everyone is discussing.

Re: Gross question....

from www.webmd.com

' Spokespersons for the American Medical Association and American College of Gastroenterology said their organizations could not comment on colon hydrotherapy because too little is known about it.

Other conventional doctors are less reticent. 'I'm not opposed to alternative therapies when they're used judiciously and have no significant risks,' says Ross Black, a family physician in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. 'The high colonic has some significant risks.'

The dangers, Black says, include spreading infection from contaminated equipment and harmfully altering the chemical balance of the colon. A major function of the colon is to absorb minerals such as potassium and send them through the bloodstream. Colonics could wipe out these minerals and thereby cause deficiencies, Black says.

Even advocates, such as Groven, stress that the treatment is not appropriate for people with certain medical problems, such as appendicitis, hepatitis and ulcerative colitis, and should be used only under the supervision of a naturopathic or traditional doctor. '

Re: Gross question....

Where are these places in NYC? Don't you have to be careful that you might get something from someone who is not trained and licensed?
