So one of my friends writes to me tonight and tells me that she and her hubby tried to book one of the rooms I blocked at a hotel that shall remain nameless. She told them she was with my wedding and they told her they were 'having trouble finding the group rate for that wedding and she'd have to call back.'
Now I'm going to assume this was just someone new who couldn't figure out how to get it, and I'm sure it's fine because I have a copy of the contract with exactly how many rooms were blocked at what price, but it just irritates me when things don't go right! I'm OOT so I can't micromanage every detail the way I want to!
But seriously, I'm a little annoyed about this!

Re: GRRRRR!!!
The same thing happened to us last week!!! FH spent 3 days trying to straighten things our with the hotel who was having 'a glitch with their system'
FH told then that their 'glitch' turned his sweet little bride into a terror and that he was going to need financial compensation for their 'glitch' so they lowered the block rate by another $10/night!!!!!
BTW....I'm NEVER a TERROR

Re: GRRRRR!!!
I had something similiar happen -- one of my friends called to reserve a room under the block we set up and the hotel had the wrong 'YEAR' of our wedding even thoug I had the contract with the right year in front of me. My friend set them straight! And when I called them back they told me they must have initially entered our info wrong when we set of the block of rooms. Just glad they straightened it all out. Phew!

wow I should try that if things don't improve, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now because they were really nice on the phone and gave me a good rate and lots of rooms. I'm going to call tomorrow and make sure it's all good.

Re: GRRRRR!!!
i'd rather not say right now because i want to wait until i have a chance to talk to the manager tomorrow - i'm sure there's some reasonable explanation for everything. if for any reason things go horribly wrong i will FM it to you. otherwise it really is a nice place and they were nice to me on the phone and prompt with the contract so i want to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
