Grrrrr to weight loss

Original post by amandah75

So I was all gungho to start my new lifestyle plan (i can't call it diet) yesterday including a nice 1 mile walk to start on my way to a thinner and happier me. So what do I do instead of these thing? Made baked ziti and baked FH a cake cause last night was his first night of college and sat and watched TV shows I had DVRd months ago. In fact, think I've actually gained a couple of pounds since getting engaged. I'm such a saboteur i swear! Going home is always my downfall. I'll be good all day long and then make cornbread for no reason when I get home (love to bake).

Someone shoot me. Just looking at today as another day. I've cut out my morning coffee and donut for Special K bars and water so that's good. Doing salads for lunch this week. It's just that time when I get home....and now that FH is in school, forget about it!!!!! You'd think I'd take that time to work on myself. Nope! I'm too busy feeling sorry for myself cause I'm all lonely.

Ok, vent is over. Maybe posting this will be the kick in the a@@ I need to do this tonight. 1 mile. Gotta do 1 mile. FH charged my IPOD and everything for me over the weekend.

LOL..that happens to me all the time. Whenever I look up low point/low calorie recipes online or go shopping for low cal. food I get really hungry.

Then again, this board makes me hungry. We're always talkin about FOOD!!

If they made a calorie free beer and low fat wings I'd be as thin as an F'ing supermodel.

i'd never leave my house! (or the bars that serve them)

as far as salsa, it is a diuretic (you pee it out) so it makes it even better lol. i eat it every day on my sandwiches..no matter what cold cut. it just goes with everything!

btw, watch out for those baked/lite chips, they might just cause anal leakage. (can anyone guess what movie that is from??)

Loosing weight is really hard. It is not fun to order salads with dressing on the side in resturants. I do not enjoy drinking club soda on my couch at night, I much rather be with my boys Ben & Jerry. I just do it because the sacrifices are small compared to the huge self confidence I feel when I love my body.

I know this sounds silly, but if you ever want to go with me to weight watchers, let me know. I'm all the way in Whitestone, Queens but work in Hauppauge so I can always go to a meeting out in Suffolk or Nassau. FM if you would like (even if you dont want to do the WW thing)

i know how u feel. i gained a good 15 lbs after i started dating FH (2 yrs ago). And he gained like 25 lol. I joined WW (online only) and managed to loose 18 lbs over the last 6 months. the program made it easy because i could track my intake and it held me accountable for all my food. it also allowed me to eat anything (as long as i tracked it) and provided me access to 100s of diet friendly recipes. after i lost weight FH was inspired to go on his own diet and he lost 15 lbs (in half the time ofcourse lol).
maybe this could work for you? they offer a 2-week trial.

other than that i would just say that you have to set small goals for yourself....mine was to fit into certain clothes that i couldnt wear anymore. its a great motivator to fit into those overpriced jeans again :)

also...the first week on a diet is the hardest...once you get into the groove its much easier.

also...remember that you didnt gain weight over night... so its going to take some time to loose it.

and here's a quote from a fellow WW poster... 'nothing tastes as good as thin feels.'

GOOD LUCK!

its ok, dont get down on yourself. If you eat healthy most of the time and indulge once in a while it is more than perfectly fine. When i was losing weight, i read an article by a fitness trainer that said as long as you dedicate 6 days of the week to eating healthy you can indulge 1 day. This is what i would do, i ate healthy everyday but sunday, and you wont gain weight just for that 1 day. If you are eating right and working out alot then it wont matter if you ate baked zitti and cake 1 time. Its good to indulge here and there, otherwise those who try sticking to STRICT diets for long periods of time cant always do it and thats when ppl start diets bc they cant take it anymore.

So keep it up, you're doing fine

BUMPing Amanda's topic...

I need an intervention or something. y'all... I am GAINING weight (not losing it!) and I refuse to buy new clothes in a larger size so I look like hot buttered a$$ every day because nothing fits right. I just CAN'T get motivated and I don't know what to do.

To top it off it's princess time so I am more bloated and fat feeling than usual.

I think I am going to sign up this week. I gained at least 20 lbs since I have moved back from CA 3 years afo and it's gross. If I know someone is going to weigh me every week...I'll be embarassed into losing weight : )

I know the feeling. Yesterday was an EXTREMELY stressful day. Ate 2 hagen daaz ice cream bars, cheetos.....let me stop before I cry. I've been gaining weight as well when I should be losing. Think the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem You did that. Next step is to figure out 1 thing you can stop that will help you lose weight. Just one for right now so you don't feel overwhelmed. What about drinking only water this week and lots of it? Helps with the bloating and cleanses you out. You know I'm here for you sweetie. This hiccup is a temporary thing. You'll be on your way to your sexy wedding body before you know it. You can always FM me.
