Water Main Break Disrupts Subway Service

NEW YORK -- A water main break in midtown Manhattan has disrupted subway service along Sixth Avenue from midtown to the West Village.

Uptown and downtown B, D, F, and V trains are skipping all stops between W. Fourth Street and 59th Street. Those trains are running along the Eighth Avenue line.

A New York City Transit official said the break occurred at 11:28 a.m. at 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue.

Workers are currently trying to fix the problem.

Yup I was just coming on to post that, I got home about 1/2 an hour ago (3pm) and I left school (59th and 10th) at 1 pm.

I hope it doesn't take anyone else as long as it took me to get home.

Ugh!!! What subway did you take? Maybe I'll just take the LIRR

Ugh!!! What subway did you take? Maybe I'll just take the LIRR

I had to take the B from 59th/Columbus Circle to 42nd St to jump on the E to get home.
