i worked @ cv for a year.
they're such scam artists its not even funny.
it's a terrible product for an astronomical price.
i quit because working for that company was starting to rot my brain and being unemployed sounded much better.
not even kidding.
to bypass the whole headache here's what we do.
call and ask to speak to disconnect if its not one of the options when you call in.
don't even give the rep a reason until they transfer you.
if you're having problems, they probably aren't going to help, and 19 techs later, it will most likely be worse.
once in disconnect, tell them the prices are outrageous (because they are), you can't afford it and have looked into other options.
they know who else is available in the area- that's how they do their promos.
so if you say verizon, and there's no fios, 9 times out of 10, they won't offer anything.
i'm surprised they even let the above slide who said she got away with it.
its not their business who you're switching to, mention nothing.
the average rep takes 90 calls a day, 80 of which are people threatening to go to verizon.
not to sound like this, but regular customer service doesn't care.
verizon? ok, here's the disco office. they don't get commission, disconnect and sales does, thus, they don't care.
just a tip for those 'stuck' with cable.
the whole time i worked there, we get free cable/internet/phone as a perk. i was still paying almost $200/month to keep my verizon, if that's any indicator to my feelings on the company.
