grrrrrr....my cat again....need some medical advice

For those of you who are familiar with my LOVELY cat...he has a tendency to terrorize me.....and yesterday was not unlike any other day....I woke up to him trying to bite me....and he got me good on the arm...

i think it's gotten infected though...it's very tender, and a bit swollen, and it looks like it's a little discolored also.....gotta love my cat!

any ideas for how i can take care of it?
i put some antibacterial cream on it...anything else i can do?

oh, and does anyone want a 14 year old male orange and white cat?
he's declawed and prefers cheap cat food.....

Sorry about your arm, I'd just pour some peroxide on it, I don't know...

I don't want to scare you but please go to the DR and get it looked at right away.

I have had 2 family members end up in ER or hospital due to cat bites.

My uncle is a surgeon and about 6 years ago he was picking up his cat and it bit him. He cleaned it etc but within 2 or 3 days it completely swelled and he almost lost his hand and was in the hospital for a while.

My step grandfathers daughter and her husband have 6 cats. Her husband was snuggling with one of the cats and it bit him suddenly (this cat NEVER bites in all the years they have had him) and he went to the dr and the next day had to go to ER when his arm swelled up.

I can think of others who have had problems. I'm sure this will NOT happen to you BUT I would still go to a dr and make sure you don't need antibiotics

so it's true then...my cat is actually trying to kill me.
it still hurts...i'm going to give it a day or two and then i will go get it looked at.

yes, that's him...he is very serious....not a lot of fun to be around....unless you have food for him.....or an arm

i did see somethign on 'emergency vets' on animal planet and a womans poor cat fell on a spoke on a gate and was stuck and she was trying to help him but he was scared so he kept biting her..... it was bad she needed stitches, but they were saying how dangerous cat bites can be, so id get a professional to take a looksie.
