I just want to first thank Jesus Christ and God because without them I would have never met the man of my dreams and had this wedding in the first place. It was in keeping faith that I was able to even have this wedding after a few setbacks. The best advice I can give to you girls is never forget that while we all want to have a beautiful wedding the most important part of our wedding is the church ceremony and the union of husband and wife everything else is just an added extra!! Being in that alter was for sure the most memorable and happiest day of my life. I knew I always loved my husband but seeing him up there made me love him in a way that I never knew possible. This experience truly changes you forever!! Enjoy those moments up there ladies!!
I also want to thank LI Weddings (Ron & Liz) and ALL the 09 girls especially 1 girl Gloria (G-Rod) who gave me fantastic advise throughout my 5 month planning process!! My wedding wouldn’t have had all the beautiful little details it did without you guys!!!!! I am forever grateful
I want to say that in the end I’m sorry that I had no time to say my Goodbyes. The original catering hall I was going to have my reception in closed down 4 days before the wedding!!!!! Long story short we did a last minute switcheroo to Villa Russo and I can say was that it was destiny for me to have my wedding there.
First off a lot of you may remember I had a tiny little problem with one of their secretary’s when I was hall hunting. Well although George (the owner) himself wrote me this fantastic email and apologized on her behalf and also the woman apologized I’m pretty sure you can all understand that I was still a little nervous about giving them a second chance and I ended up booking with a place that I really wouldn’t of picked first but it was the only other places that had my date. (We planned the wedding in 6 months)
Ok, well after I booked my original first place I was soooooo nervous because I had heard sooooo many negative things about it and it caused me much stress for the next 4 months of planning. Long story short all those fears came true because I found out from another one of my vendors that they were closed down by the health department and I for sure thought my reception was going to be over!!
I ended up contacting George himself and he scheduled an appointment for me with the Banquet Manager’s that same evening. This was Tuesday my wedding was Friday!!! Suzanne was Betty were AMAZING they knew exactly how to keep me calm and were so kind and worked so hard to make my day special!!! Although I only had 50 guests they upgraded me to the bigger room because I loved that one better. She even included the chair covers for me at NO extra charge because the ones I rented through the first hall I obviously couldn’t use.
The day before the wedding I was running late doing errands and they waited for me past closing so that I could drop all my items off. These people were the light for me at the end of the tunnel and they helped make all my dreams for our wedding come true. I cannot stress this enough that if you want to have an elegant affair Villa Russo is your place. They put out all the stops to make everything look perfect!!! I had a very small wedding and even though we had 50 guests we had sooooo many waiters and staff walking around taking care of my entire guest. Oh and I almost forgot my daughter got an allergic reaction during the night and Mr. Russo himself went and got her some Benadryl!! My wedding was truly my fairytale dream come true and as I type this the tears are rolling down my eyes because I am so grateful for the wonderful people at Villa Russo. The food was delicious!! Especially the salmon whoever goes here MUST try the salmon, I had guest calling me to rave about it the next day ?
I also have to tell about Villa Bate in Brooklyn. My wedding cake was GORGEOUS!! I knew that my cake would come from here since day one!! They are worth every single penny you spend!! Cake is very important to me it is my favorite dessert so you might say that I’m a cake snob and no bakery can ever compete in my eyes. So many places work so hard on the outside presentation that they forget the cake HAS to taste good also. My cake was scrumptious!!! Everyone raved and said it was the best cake they had ever eaten!!
A super BIG rave for Rafael from Ultimate Sounds Dj’s!! He was amazing!!! Wow this guy knows his stuff a couple of you girls are using them and all I have to say is you have nothing to worry about!! (ASK FOR THIS GUY IN PARTICULAR!) Talking to this guy was like talking to one of my friends that I had known my whole life! He is such a sweetheart with a great sense of humor.
I will probably do a more detailed review for my other great vendors later on but I felt I had to let everyone know about Villa Russo, Villa Bate and Ultimate Sound Dj’s and their fantastic businesses!! (They were the best)Enjoy some non-pro pics for now! Sorry everyone was so busy having a great time eating and dancing that no one hardly took pics but I took that as a great sign!!
