I was just going over the guest list and I realized that we have two people on here that at the time we wrote the list we thought we'd invite them (it's a mother and daughter) but now we are unsure. Here's the situation:
FH has a cousin that lives in NJ. her and her family (mother/other siblings) are freindly with this lady and her grown daughter. This mother and daughter, from what I can tell, are over the cousins' house alot (I'd even venture to say every day) just to hang out and chat, etc - basically they consider themselves part of the family. They are both nice enough - they can be snobby acting at times - they are both interior designers and have very rich clientele - and the daughter has alwasys been very nice to me but I'm just not crazy about her. She is fake and that bothers me because she doens't need to be. Last January FH had another cousin in NYC for the day and we went to see her and the cousin from NJ came too, with her friends. After a few glasses of wine, the friend/daughter said to me she hoped she'd be invited to the wedding. She completely caught me off guard and I said 'of course'. We had sorta been thinking about it a month before, but weren't too sure - after all she's the cousins' friend, not ours, we only see them or communicate with them when we go see FH's cousin. So then we thought 'ok no biggie let's invite them'.
That was January. Now it's October and to be honest, we don't want to invite them. Everytime we see this couple, we like the mother but the daughter just is so fake she gets on your nerves. FH has gotten to the point that he does not like her at all anymore. He says not to invite but I feel weird doing that since I said they were invited.
Oh...we didn't ask them to the e-party but we saw them a month later and the daughter said to me (with a fake smile on her face) 'so...how was the e-party?' - it was one of those things where you could tell she was miffed she wasn't invited. Oy. What should we do?!?
Yes, I'm bored tonight. Thanks for being patient with my wordiness!
