guest book alternatives?

seen anything cute/original you liked? I'm tossing around ideas...I can't remember seeing a guest book at any of the weddings I've been to.

I made my guest book on shutterfly.com I used my engagement photos, one photo per 2 page spread, with a white background, so there would be plenty of room for signatures.

My SIL/MOH is making a wedding quilt with our names and date with some kind of maybe Cake or bells or something so our guests can sign it with a fabric pen. I am really looking foward to seeing how this will come out.

Check out Etsy.com under Weddings/Guest Book.

I like the wedding guest book address box.

Here's a link to one for reference.

I have seen it where there is apothocary jar that teh couple leaves note cards and pens out for well wishes and congratulations for people to drop in, and used that instead.

My cousin and his wife had fabric squares in their wedding colors out with fabric pens, so people could sign their names and give good wishes. They are having them made into a quilt for the house. I thought it was kinda cute.

Our photographer made us a sign in board with one of our e-pics in the center of it.

My friend had a polaroid camera with the guest book, so that people could take their picture and leave a note. It was such a cute idea, that I'm stealing it for my wedding.

FH makes homemade wine. We are having everyone sign a big wine bottle.

I like the idea of having guests sign a large mat and then using it with your wedding photos. Also a wishing tree is really nice. We're going to be doing a photobooth guest book. Here's an example of what I'd like to do:

we did a photo guestbook made from picaboo.com. I uploaded 1-2 pics of me and DH on every page and had the guests sign around the pics. I brought it with me to the rehearsal dinner, so at least all the 'important' people were able to sign it.

I bought a coffee table book called 'The Wedding Album' by Alice Harris (I saw it at a bookstore for $50 and got it on Amazon for $1.00 + $4 shipping) and had people sign it like a yearbook. It's cute, and I have fun looking at it now. I figured whatever book I got would end up on a bookshelf soon enough, why not make it something kinda unique that others might be interested in looking at someday too. It features pictures of famous weddings as well as foreign weddings, as well as some very old wedding pictures. It's a sweet book.
