Guest book coffee table book idea

I've been throwing around the idea of using a beautiful coffee table book as our guest book to have our guests sign in at the wedding but never really found anything that I thought might work.

Until today! I was out at this little boutique book store in DUMBO (brooklyn) and saw a gorgeous hard-cover book called 'The Wedding Album' by Alice Harris.

I went to purchase it (it didn't have a price marked) and was told it was $50. The cover was smudged, so I asked if they had another, and they looked and said it was in their warehouse so I'd have to come back another day for it.

I just looked the book up on amazon and it's $8.99 there for the same book!!!!!!!!!! I think I'm going to get it!! Here's a little preview of what it looks like:

What do you think of this idea? Is it too impersonal? Do you think people will write in it?

I think it's a great idea but I don't think people will know what to do. Maybe you could make a cute little sign that tells them what to do.

I think its a great idea! I'm doing the same sort of thing but using a book related to our theme. I am going to put up a note of what to do, and perhaps put some post-it stickers on the blank page sections for them to sign - kind of like yearbook style.

I would definitely put a sign explaining what to do, and also ask my cousins to be in charge of the table (they're 23 and 16 and want an important extra role, since my BP is so small and they're not in it).

Thanks for the feedback! I'd still love to be able to do a book like that but of epictures, but I just don't think they'll be enough time since our epics are on 6/14, just barely a month before the wedding.

you can do a picture book on shutterfly - you might have enough time to have it ship if you get some pics fast enough

I have silver sharpies that will work on the pages with pics, and the other pages have a lot of white space. It could come out looking almost like a yearbook.
