She is 6 short of her minimum, but the hall agreed to let her use the meals towards kids and not charge her for the 6 kids.
Yesterday 2 people called to say they are sorry and cannot make it. And she has a feeling another family of 3 may bail out.
What can she do? Obviously it is rude to just ask people who weren't even invited in the first place to come. But at the same time, she has already paid in full for those people.
Any advice on what she can do? Can she ask the place to give her meals to go? Or does she just have to eat the cost and deal with the fact that some people are just rude.

We didn't meet our minimum, so the RH gave us the food to take home (and I think they added an extra layer on the cake too).
Be careful in inviting extra guests so late. Maybe you can ask friends that were invited without guests if they would like to bring someone? That way you don't really run the risk of offending anyone.

Yeah, if it was me I'd have no problem asking some of my online friends.
But my sis thinks it would be rude so she is OK with eating the cost.
I think it is silly to get the meals - like it doesn't really make up for it. $150 for a meal in a styrofoam box?

In a way people are so rude. But at the same time I fee bad, since maybe they lost their jobs. I think she can tell them that she will take the food or maybe upgrade some other tables.

Last minute cancellations just kind of comes with the territory. There may also be a couple who just don't show up on the day of. You just kind of have to expect it, and suck it up. In the grand scheme of things, you've already paid the money, so you can't really dwell too much on it.

That is so annoying!!! We had 2 no-shows...and we still haven't heard from them...weird! I would so get the paid for food to go, they will be hungry at the hotel and so will your family...
