that happened to us, dh coworkers (six total) no show, no card/gift and no mention except for one who couldn't get a baby sitter. We just stopped talking to them. We didn't care if they couldn't come last minute but call us this way we could of had someone sit in their place instead of wasting $$$$$$ and a meal.

*** is wrong with people? I mean really - I could just never do these things. Does he still work with them??

My coworker's husband is having charges brought up against him for assaulting a female police officer. If he's in the pokey he can't come to my wedding.

Seriously - I just had 2 people from work tell me they are not coming to my wedding I just paid my hall and gave my seating. I have a total of 12 people tell me they arent coming now. I want to cry. Everything is a mess. The # keeps changing. Now I overpaid the hall I hate people

OMG!!! 4 people dropped out yesterday . I am so pissed off also. I am paying tomorrow my balance and already gave my final count to the hall, so I am going to ask if they can just subtract those people. I think that is so rude. Unless it's a last minute emergency I can understand, but if you knew a week ago you couldn't take off at work why don't you let me know

I really wasn't going to ask, but I guess thats a valid excuse for missing the wedding.

I am sorry to hear. The same thing happened to us. A few people did have 'real excuses' and were more than generous even after not showing. (I know it isnt about the gift but it stinks when you have this whole seating arrangement and already paid in full). Two other couples stuck us the night before the wedding. DH had to change some tables around because it turned out without them showing up we would have had 3 people sitting at a table. Luckily he handled that problem on his own with the RH. I know time is really close for you is there any way your Rh can cut you a deal with adding in more food at the cocktail hour ?

Unless someone got sick or had a family emergency, it is totally rude of people to drop out! Im sorry that happened!

ETA: To this day i am embarressed of when DH's mom had rsvp'ed yes for him to go to his cousins wedding, and then he refused to go because she didn't invite me. This is when i used to stay weekends at his house. So I told him to just go cus they paid for him and he wouldnt. We were not engaged yet so she didn't have to invite me. But apparently everyone knew he had gotten me a ring. But I still think it was rude- I guess it was on both ends.

Re: Guest Drop Outs

that is very annoying!

it would be nice if halls refunded $ for guests who don't show up since they charge extra for those that do show up above the final count...

if u cant get the $ back...maybe they can throw in some extras or upgrades!

Thats different - its kind of rude to invite someone with out their significant other. I dont blame him.

As for these people - its work people. I am pretty much kicking myself for inviting them because I was unsure to begin with. Just goes to show how you should always trust your in instincts - screw em

FH was just there with our bank check so there was pretty much no way to change it. They said they would see what they can do so guess that means were beat lol. The work table was for 8 - now its 4, nice.....
