Guest Drop Outs

Seriously - I just had 2 people from work tell me they are not coming to my wedding I just paid my hall and gave my seating. I have a total of 12 people tell me they arent coming now. I want to cry. Everything is a mess. The # keeps changing. Now I overpaid the hall I hate people

I had the same thing happen to me. I had over 10 people drop out or not show up. Friggen P*ssed me off. And the ones who didnt show have not even bothered to call or write. So I am done with them!

I am sorry people are doing this to you. Never give the actual amount to your hall, always leave a few off for this reason. Easy to add a few and pay more the day of.

A few had good reasons.

Passing of a family member - Fine - totally acceptable

some friends dates fell through (hmm shocker)

2 guys are having problems with their wives

Someone told me yesterday they couldnt get off work - sorry for the short notice ***??? hello you had 2 months

and this takes the cake. My boss - who I personally work for as his assistant made a big stink over being invited and just told me something is going on with his wife and 'theres a chance he wont make it' whateverrrrrr

Im furious b/c 6 drop outs were work people and I didnt want to invite them in the first place. I felt like I had to and now look. ughhhhhhhh

It's difficult to do this when your hall requires an alphabetical list of guests to be seated and your final count. Both numbers need to be the same.

So sorry you are dealing with this!

If you have met your minimum, maybe your hall could either refund the money for those people, or throw in some extras for you. I'd definitely talk to them about it. Good Luck!

so sorry you have to go through this . I have had one drop out , but before my final count. If anyone else does that without a VALID excuse, I will never speak to that person/people again.

this is how I feel, I dont want to work these people anymore.

To be totally honest is insulting and hurtful. I know that my day will still be wonderful - but at the moment Im hurt and dont want to see these people - EVER AGAIN

that happened to us, dh coworkers (six total) no show, no card/gift and no mention except for one who couldn't get a baby sitter. We just stopped talking to them. We didn't care if they couldn't come last minute but call us this way we could of had someone sit in their place instead of wasting $$$$$$ and a meal.
