I used to be friends with a girl, more so when I was single. Really nice girl, but on a number of occasions she's gotten so drunk she's fallen off chairs, passed out in a bar, running around with her thong hanging out and not realizing it. We grew apart, my lifestyle is different from hers, but we still talk once in a while. I considered not inviting her, but I knew that would completely be the end of our friendship. So I did invite her. Anyone else in this situation? What are you doing about it? I think I'm going to talk to her about it and maybe talk to the RH about it?

Re: Guest I'm afraid will get too drunk
You haven't talked with her a lot lately, do you know she is still like that?
I would talk to your bridesmaid or DOC to keep an eye and express your concern. I would not involve the RH or bartender unless ur BM or DOC notice an issue. You don't want to have to worry about it either.

And just to say, I'm not a prude, if people get a little drunk that's cool. Just not looking for this girl passing out, ya know?

Re: Guest I'm afraid will get too drunk
Please don't judge I emailed her and asked her not to get too drunk. I know I should have called her to say that, but she also emailed me to ask if she could bring a guest when it wasn't on the invite, so I figured boundaries are down. I guess I'll call her to work it out. Maybe it's a rude thing to say but it's not coming out of no where.

Don't worry, you're not alone. We have a friend who is such a great guy, but the minute he has too much to drink, he completely changes! We were at a wedding last year and he started acting inappropriately and was groping all the women (I actually ended up in tears after he groped me in front of everyone!)
Anyway, FH and I weren't sure if we should invite him, so FH ended up just having a candid conversation about it and he apologized and promised not to let it happen again.

I think you did the right thing by speaking to her! This is the last thing you need to worry about at your wedding!! I hope she does not act out, but if she does, you have every right to have her politely escorted out of the reception!!

WOW.. If ANYONE groped me I would not want them at my wedding, nor would my FH I am sure. I hope he is normal at your wedding..

Trust me - it wasn't an easy decision! But we have been friends with this guy for over 10 years, and honestly, he really is a completely different person when he's drunk. He felt terrible for his behavior, and it hasn't happened since (that was a year ago), so fingers crossed he learned his lesson!

I have friend like thus too. Well actually I have two... The girl is known for blacking out and not remembering anything. She remains pretty tame though just misses out on the fun alot. And then there is the guy. He can get beligerant and become rude and obnoxious, he loses his filter when drunk if you know what I mean. They have both gotten better with the drinking but given an open bar I'm worried! But I had to invite them because they are the bride and groom!!! Hahahaha!

Re: Guest I'm afraid will get too drunk
yes im definitely in that situation. i have 2 of my best friends that were bridesmaids in my twin sisters wedding this past july that got so wasted made complete fools of themselves it was a disaster, groping guys on the dance floor, falling down, falling asleep in ones steak, knocking over chairs a real sh*t show. it was all anyway could talk about the next day. and well because i didnt want to make waves i asked them to be in my BP too. the only thing i can think of to keep them from getting so drunk is to tell them i dont want them having more than 2 drinks each (ive already warned them but they kinda blew me off didnt take me seriously), i told other girls in the BP that they have my permission to put them in a cab home if they act up again (i will give one of the other bridesmaids who i know is responsible cash to hold in case she needs to put either one of them in a cab) and im alerting the bartenders that these 2 have drinking problems and are under no circumstances to be served more than 2 drinks. FH suggested giving the RH photos of these 2 the week before the wedding so the barenters and waiters all know who it is they are NOT to serve. i know all this sounds extreme and mean on my part but they were so out of control at my sisters wedding that i just dont want it to happen at mine and upset my parents all over again. my parents were really upset that they got so out of control.

Believe me Jennie, I'm not little Bow Peep. I plan on getting nice and tipsy. :) I just want to avoid a scene, when I used to go out with her it was more likely than not that she would stumbling all about with her thong hanging out completely unaware.

My husband is that friend lol i did consider not inviting him to my wedding but... that would have defeated the purpose... just have someone keep an eye on them...

Re: Guest I'm afraid will get too drunk
lol my ex-coworker was a HOT MESS
she wore a tiny white dress to my wedding.... high as a kite , reeking of pot
straddling her boyfriend in a chair... wearing sun glasses AT NIGHT
honestly... it was so funny, i couldn't even be mad
everyone was so amused by her. kept asking me about her. I just laughed and said 'hot mess'
Im just saying, dont sweat it too much, but talk to her if you think you will be embarrassed

Re: Guest I'm afraid will get too drunk
If you talk to her I. Sure shell try and control herself. Did you invite her alone? She may feel like she needs to get bombed if that's the case unless she knows people going? We have a few guests like this..heavy drinkers..one I. Our wedding party. We've spoken to them alreadybsaying to please respect our wishes. One person already told us he's planning on driving to make us happy :)
