Guest List ???

We don't want to have children at our reception but one of my flower girls has 3 brothers in her family. Do I have to invite the other siblings? I really don't know. What would you do?

If you really don't want kids then I think you should not invite them.....I am having kids because I am having 6 flower girls and 2 junior bridesmaid (8 and 10) and they all have 1 brother or 1 sister and I am so close to the kids in the family (Sometimes I feel closer to them then the adults, they are just so real and cute).

I know that one of my flower girls was in a wedding this past year and her brother was not invited and her mother understood.

my flower girl has one brother and two sister - i just invited my flower girl - she was 8 at the wedding and i knew she would have fun and not need to be watched at all - her mother understood and it was easier on her that way

thanks!!! I just feel like I'm being 'mean' not inviting the rest of the family but then if I invite their kids then I have to invite all the kids....

are her parents coming? if so, it might seem a little rude to them....not to mention they now have to get a babysitter so they and one of their kids can attend an all adult function. i mean, there are obviously those who've done it or are doing it, but i think the best way to go no kids is to be ALL no kids which would mean no FG....but that's just me. i'm sure they will understand, but it might be a little frustrating to them and could cause sibling hostility...'why does she get to go??' and 'haha...you can't go.' (playing devil's advocate here...i have a kid and am around a lot of them...so i just see it coming sometimes) i wanted to go 'no kids', but it meant a lot of people would just not come as their usual out of town sitters for when they travel are coming to the wedding!

a child in the BP is one thing--but once you start letting others in--then other family members might start wanting their kids to be invited

i too am against children at the wedding--i'd just invite the FG. not for nothing--but in my experience when parents are coming to a wedding and bring their children; for some reason they seem to think they have a roomful of baby-sitters!!!!

hopefully they will understand your decision

I don't know ages, but maybe since you are at the Inn at East wind, you can get one of the rooms or something and get a babysitter. It is an idea. I am having kids during the day, and if I was at a hotel, i would just get a sitter and be done with it all. That way it is not rude and also that way it doesn't burden the parents of the Flowergirl by having to watch her the whole night and they can enjoy themselves. Just a thought. If i had the space I would do it. Best of both worlds
