Hey ladies! Just curious... what is the size of your guest list? We are having such difficulty deciding... We are guaranteeing 150, how many people should we be inviting to make it? Our original list was at 255 but we seriously narrowed it down... now we are at about 165. Is anyone else having a hard time?!?! What were some of your deciding factors on whom to invite?

If you are guaranteeing 150, I suggest you invite more than 165 only because there may be a significant amount of people that cannot come. It all depends though. My guarantee is only 75 and I'm inviting 130-140 people. Also because my reception is on a sunday night ending at 12:30am and many people have work the next morning.

You may want to invite about 200 people if you want to meet your guarantee

We only guarentted 150 but then when we did our list it came out to 220. Our room holds 180 max so we need about 20% to say no. I say make a list of who you really want & leave it at that. You can always make a B list.

def invite more than 165 if you have to meet 150
make an a list (those who have to be there...a b list (those who you would really like to be there) and a c list (those who it would be nice to have but you can do without them) and then weed through your list. if you think its too many people start cutting down on the 'with guests'
i gotta guarentee 130 but im planning on having 150 so im gonna invite around 175

I had to guarantee 140 but we are inviting about 190-200. If you know the people on your list you can sort of figure out who will or won’t come. We have a lot of out of town so we are expecting about 150 or so to come.

We had two tiers... one for people we HAD to invite (family and close friends) and then tier II was when tier I people decline, we send tier II people an invitation. That way, you won't be over your maximum because you are sending invitations in installments.

My gaurantee is 200, our guest list right now is at 265 - about 50% aer out of towners so we are ready with a B-list.
The original list was 285 and that just about gave me a heartattack (that is waaaaayyyy over budget) so I had people cut and move to the b-list.

If you are not inviting a bunch of OOTers, I was advised to expect that possibly 15-20% of the people invited will not attend. HTH
