So what does everyone think of people who are not married and mostly are my college friends, to not allow them to bring guests? I have about 20 people from college I am inviting, mostly immature boys, and I know ones going to try and bring his brother who is a bigger mess than he is, and ones going to bring some random *** girl he meets the night before. Like if they dont have serious relationships, can I just invite them and no guest?

Re: Guest List
It's totally fine to invite these single friends with no guest. Especially so if you are worried who they will bring!

Re: Guest List
With the exception of the bridal party, we only invited people' and guest 'who were either engaged or living together.

We decided that if they are not in a serious relationship, no date.

I'm not inviting people with a guest unless they are in a relationship. No random people at my wedding, thank you.

i think that as long as they're in a serious relationship, then def 'and guest' otherwise no way.

Re: Guest List
I didn't put 'and guest' on any but 2 invites, but I called most of my friends or spoke to them in person and told them that they are welcome to bring someone with them, to just let me know who they are bringing when they send me back their RSVP.
I'm not trying to limit #s, I just don't want totally random people at my wedding either. At the same time, I want people to be comfortable and not feel like they have to come alone. I'd rather they come with a guest I don't know than not show because they're strange about coming by themselves.

I personally think it is rude not to invite people with a guest, JMHO.

Re: Guest List
I invited people with a guest only if they were in a relationship/engaged or didn't know anyone at the wedding.
Since you are inviting your college friends, I am assuming they will know each other so I don't think there's anything wrong with not inviting them with a guest.

Re: Guest List
There will be no random people at my wedding. I am spending a fortune on this day and i refuse to spend more on people I dont even know. I dont know how they will act or if they are drunks....no way. Only couples in a serious relationship whether they are living together or engaged or not are invited otherwise they will come without a date.

I agree, especially given the fact that they can hang out with each other. It's perfectly OK. If it turns out that one of them asks to bring someone and it really doesn't fit your budget...just tell them that you are so sorry but that you are on a strict budhet and weren't able to invite everyone with a guest that you wanted to.

Re: Guest List
As long as they will know other people there, it would be fine. We did that with our single friends (not in a relationship) and they all had a blast!!
When I was single, I actually preferred going to a wedding alone rather than bring someone who didn't know anyone else there. Then I would feel like i had to babysit them all night!

I think its only rude if the person is in a relationship and you invite them alone. Which we didn't do.
Our single friends all knew other people at the wedding and had no problem being invited alone.
