Since our wedding is in the winter time we had to guarantee 80 minimum. Right now we are at 110 but FH did not get to invite anyone from work and of all 110 come we are over budget. I'm nervous because it's a all family and some friends. I'm really hoping people don't come. I feel horrible for thinking that.
We just had this conversation with FH's parents yesterday. I only want 125 people showing up for the wedding, and his mom gave me a look of horror. We have already come up with a number for both sets of parents that we are more than happy to invite and pay for. FMIL asked if they pay they extra, can they invite more people. I think that would be fair, but is it ok if i cap it a certain number - like tell her sure, but i only want 6 extra people? I really don't want to end up being a guest at my own wedding.
Since we're paying for it mostly ourselves we decided to give my parents, his dad and stepmom, and his mom 1 table each to fill up--we'll see how that goes when we tell them =) Good luck!
