Guest List Problem (long)

Guest List Problem (long)

Hidee ho everyone. Alright, so we're in the processes of finalizing our guest list and its becoming a touchy subject.

His list is about 90 people--that includes what his parents want, family, friends, work colleagues but everyone who's single as a single.

My list is about 150 people and includes most of my single friends without dates (but there are some in long term relationships that I included with a guest)my family and a number of people from work.

If you ladies were trying to figure out ways to cut a guest list, where would you cut first? Take away the 'and guest' from single friends or just eliminate categories, like everyone from work? We do have at least 100 people (between he and I) who would be from out of town....think our refusal rate would go from 20% to 30%? That could turn this 'problem' into perfection!

I am eliminating all but my boss from work, and if you don't have a long term relationship, no guest.

You need to set up a B list. This should consist of co-workers and people you dont see yourself being friendly with 5 years from now. Once you start getting 'not attending', send invites to the B listers

we invited my friends with guests-- and we only invited FH's friends with a guest due to the fact that all his friends- are one big group- where mine are twos and threes from certain parts of my life.

We can eliminate a lot of plus ones if people can come on their own and not feel like they are all by themselves.. this is only if they are single though.

We are not inviting work people..

I think your refusal rate will go up if half your list is out of town.

Also- you'd be surprised the people you end up cutting before you get ready to send out your invites-- I may cut one or two- maunly cause I just have not seen this people in ages.
