I went home this past weekend for the first time since the engagement, and of course the wedding list got longer by like 60 people. Our list is over 300 already! At least my parents PROMISE that these additions just need to be sent an invite, but won't attend the actual wedding. At least I hope not.
Should I send invitations to people I don't think would come, but would get offended if I didn't invite? What happens if we don't expect them to come, then they end up responding yes? I cannot afford to pay for 60 more people!!!

Re: Guest list question
I would ask your parents, in the event that these people come, would she help pay for them considering she insisted you invite them.

I agree. If they are insisting you invite them They should help pay for them if they do show up.

Re: Guest list question
What a lot of people do is invite the A list, the people you would definitely be inviting no matter what, send those out fairly early. When you start getting responses back from the A list people that will not be attending, send invitations to the B list. I've spoken to a lot of girls that were shocked by the amout of responses they received of people that weren't coming to their wedding.

Re: Guest list question
oh yeah!! A list...B list...and even sometimes a C list!!
trust me you need to have these ppl divided up in this A & B list categories. i know it seems crazy to do it, but trust me, your list may be at 300 right now, but it WILL GET BIGGER! i started my list in 2005, and guaranteed 100 ppl for my hall. we could barely come up with about 80-90 ppl.
fast fwd. to the present, and i'm organizing my invitations. we are at 145 and GROWING! as time goes on, you will edit your guest list sooo many times, that you really need to put an A/B list together.
you'd be surprised at the ppl you THINK will say no and respond yes, as well as the ones you think will for sure be there, and RSVP no!!
