ok so im forcing myself to begin to make a guestlist finally! I wanted to know if any of you who already have done this used any kind of format. I remember tilde saying that theres a spreadsheet to use that makes things easier when you send the names to the person doing your invitations. any suggestions or ideas? Id like to make this as painless as possible lol
TIA

Re: guest list question
I will send you mine when I get home. I made two - one was more useful to help my family plan the shower and to keep track of the RSVPs and the other one was for addressing envelopes.
I can't remember exactly but the detailed one had columns like: First name, Last name, Guest first name, guest last name, address, phone number, shower y/n, bach party y/n, RSVP
The one for my addresses they told me to format it as Address Line #1, #2, #3 and break it up like that and that was the one where I wrote everything out like Mr. and Mrs. Joe Whatever

Re: guest list question
Excel
Just make a normal excel spreadsheet with columns for their last names, first name, address, number of guests attending (which you can set up to sum at the bottom of the column).
If you'll be sending this list to whoever is doing your envelopes then maybe title the columns Outer Envelope Name, Address, Inner Envelope name.

Re: guest list question
In Excel, I just did a search for 'wedding guest list' templates and they had a few you could download. Theyre very helpful.

Re: guest list question
I actualy have mine in theknot.com from way before I came on LIW. Its good b/c you can click off if they are invited to the wedding/showe/e-party/A or B list/guest of: , etc..
you can export to excell which is what I usually do anyway
If you use excell too though
for invites, you need: outer env, names and address, and inner env

Re: guest list question
I used weddingtracker.com
its AWSOME.
I type in all the info and then it exports to excel for you and can do reports! like brides list...people w/o addresses.- Love it
you can even keep track of your rsvps and gifts you've received.

Re: guest list question
Excel.
I like to be able to manipulate things the way I want them and for different functions (ie shower).
I know there a ton of different wedding tools out there too.

I also used Excel but when I had the calligraphy done I had to redo it in Word because it was done by computer.
