I'm drawing a blank here. What % of the total guest list do they say you should expect to lose on average? We're trying to finalize our list. Thanks

Re: Guest list question . . .
I hear most people say 20% will probably not show..but it really depends on your guests..we are keeping it small close friends and family so ours will probably be a little less

20% but it also depends how many OOT guests you have.

Re: Guest list question . . .
Check out the '09 board -- there's a recent thread on there with everyone's actual invited vs. YES #s -- that could help you get a real idea.
But every situation is different. The majority of our invited guests were OOT (approximately half!) so we had more No's than usual.
Invited: 176 RSVP'd yes: 109
(2 couldn't come due to death in the family, 1 got in a car accident on the way to the wedding and didn't make it -- she's ok, thankfully!)
We were told expect 20% of our guest list to decline if your guests are mostly local and 30% if you have a lot of oot guests. We had a 34% decline rate with more then 50% of our guests list from OOT.

Re: Guest list question . . .
Yeah, definitely depends how many OOT you have. But generally they say 20% decrease.
