So we were going over our Guest list last night and tried to cut it down and still have 250 people. I've been at my job for 10 years and close with all my coworkers. I have like 35 work people if i invite them with guests. do you think its rude if invite work people with out a guest even if they are married?
I want to invite them but it will be too much if they all bring a guest. I don't want to offend anyone though. Anyone else have a similar situation?
TIA

Re: Guest list question
I don't have a similar situation. But if you are tight and can't really afford to invite them with a guest...simply explain that it's without a guest. It's NOT rude. I was invited also to an event from my company and they clearly said NO GUEST...I was not offended in any way. I went by myself and had a blast with my co-workers.

Re: Guest list question
I wouldn't not invite them with a guest. I mean what if that happened to you where FH was invited to a Wedding and not you?

Re: Guest list question
I don't think it's rude, but if someone invited me to a wedding without a guest and I was married I would def be upset. If my coworkers all agreed to go single then I guess I would be ok with it. I think you should talk to them before you send out the invites

Re: Guest list question
My friend from work did this and lots of people did go without their spouses (I;ve also seen LIW brides do this....why should the DH go when he doens't know the people?), but some left early.
Maybe you can hold back all of the worl invitations as B-list so you can see how many other people say yes and you can then decide whether you can afford the guests?

Re: Guest list question
i'm in a similar situation and are really close with my old coworkers and we're inviting a decent amount of them to the wedding. Even though our guest list is huge already, we are inviting married ones and those in relationships with a guest. The others are not invited w/ a guest b/c they'll have the other single coworkers to be with.

Re: Guest list question
My cousin just invited her co-workers, no spouses, and they all had a BLAST! They all said it was so nice to have a night out without the guys so they could drink, dance and have a good time. None of them were offended, and all came.

I've heard of this situation too. Just give them a heads up.
