I said very casually - 'yeah- it was funny how we were hoping to get 145, now we are up to 156 with the b list' I also told her that we wanted to stay closer to 145 b/c thats whats included in our budget.

So I put it out there. Hopefully they will realize and either cut their list or opwn their wallet. I hat eto be that way, but we are paying for about 95% ourselves.

don't sweat it, just talk to them nicely, they HAVE to know how much wedding cost, tell them its simply not in you budget!

Im in the same boat., we get along GREAT but she is out of control with the guest lists...

on top of our 6th month mark--I HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT THE INVITES ., I cant have more...she doesnt understand this

tell her they can invite then but you want her to pay for them...thats not fair for them to invite THEIR friends and you pay for it!! if you want....i can talk to them for ya!!!

make FH tell her that you have budgeted for what you have and can not afford to add any unless they garentee to pay for those friends they want to add....or sit them down and let them tell FH exactly wat they are contributing financially to see if you can swing these extra guests....

Here is my e-mail i sent to her with the guest list...

Hi , Its me again with more wedding crapola- lol

I attached the A and B guest list so far. We need to get a pretty accurate idea of how many work people you want to add because it will effect the budget (plates, invitations, flowers for more tables, favors).

When we first did the guest list it was based on the 150 so we did our budget off of that and you said you werent inviting work people. Its Ok if you want to invite more people, but we really need to know exactly how many for the budget. We can only afford so many on our budget. Its so strange how we thought we would have trouble making the minimum and now we are over. Its better than paying for plates who arent there.

I dont want Aaron to try and get a 3rd job....lol....you know he is crazy with money! We are already over the amount we planned on spending so he is flipping.

Oh boy..this is getting stressful...we shoulda just eloped..lol

Honestly, as difficult as it may be I think you just need to be straight forward and say, 'I am sorry we are unable to accomodate your friends from work on our budget, but if you are willing to pay for them we'd be more than happy to invite them'.
