Guest list/seating chart vent

Guest list/seating chart vent

Can I just say how annoying this is, I seriously can't believe how difficult such a simple thing can be. It is 12 days before my e-party, and the rsvp date was February 1st to last respond. I am STILL at this very moment calling up to find out if certain people are going, and guess what I STILL DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!! Some people never sent a yes or a no and I made people call now and find out, and yes they are coming, and i am supposed to find out when? Then someone else who did RSVP said today they can't make it, ok fine but now i am stuck with a seating chart that is driving me nuts and i have to hand it in tomorrow!!!!!!!...The best part is that there is still about 4 or 5 people that were not sure of, so i said what do we do find out the day of, and i was given the answer yes, so hmmmm ok the day of when they just show up, im supposed to tell people to get up from their seats and arrange the tables now!!!!!!

It completely messes everything up, if they show up i have toooo many people at the table they know somebody...basically i can maybe put 1 or 2 people at some tables, they know them or not is not my problem at this point...but if all those who we dont know about show up, then we'll have to make an extra table of 5 people, which would be kind of stupid...not to mention that it would be kind of stupid since they would have to set up the table during the party, i mean seriously how ridiculous is that.

I am soooo annoyed...The funny part is that the ONLY!!!!!! tables that are completely done are MYYYYYYY tables, those are the only ones i filled out on the chart, my table of friends...They filled up perfectly, no and if's or buts.

I don't understand, do people not know how things work

I am soooo sorry but this is soooo frustrating...At the moment, i am stuck with 3 people and NOWHERE to sit them...so i have to try and figure out something

oh boy when our guest list will be more than double for the wedding, i cant wait for that

Some people are extremely rude and inconsiderate. I wish it would be ok to write on the response cards for the wedding invitations If you don't send this back we are assuming you will not be coming, don't bother just showing up, you will not be fed and will have nowhere to sit. I wonder if that'll fly.

For my engagement party a married couple I invited never RSVP'd. I called them and left a message. When the wife called back she left a voicemail and said, 'I know I am definitely coming but I don't know about him.' I was like, you cannot be serious.... I decided to underestimate the amount by one and I still had 3 no shows, All of whom were people that RSVP'd late..... People are so rude- I feel you pain.

Ugh! I know EXACTLY how you feel! At our engagement party, we only invited a few friends, and mainly family. And I got a text message at 3 am before the day of the party from a friend asking if she can bring her new boyfriend. Now, we didnt even invite all the friends we wanted because we were on a budget! So, when I told her no - she called me crying and told me that she isnt going to know anyone there and she will feel uncomfortable coming without him. Needless to say, she came to the party solo, I thanked her for coming and her gift, and I havent spoken to her since! You really find out who your true friends are in times like these! It is unfortunate, but true.

Please....even if you put your RSVP 2 months before you know there are still going to be people who wait for the week before your wedding to tell you if they are coming or not. Some people

ugh Denise that stinks!!! Your e-party will probably have more people then my wedding, but I can still sympathize. Good luck! And I agree with an earlier poster, stick the bums at the reject table!! Maybe they will learn before the wedding and you have other things to do rather then call them to see if they are coming, thats why there's an RSVP.

WOW some people i don't understand hahaha...Thank god my friends have been the easiest, their tables have been done for a looong time lol, even before i sent out the invites...Didn't have to bother people or deal with anything from them. I also am not sure if people realize that we have to pay for them to attend, seriously i mean i guess thats why we hear of people rsvp'ing back with like 6 or 8 people like its nothing lol

Well actually i cut down the list...we were at 180 and i thought it was getting out of control so we cut down our list and invited 150...at the moment i have about 132 definites...8 people are on vacation and a couple of peope's SO can't make it...so it is not as big as we first had planned for it to be, i thought it would be hard to cut the list but it worked out

Denise, I'm going through the same thing! Our RSVP date is Saturday, and I feel like there's still a good amount of people that didn't respond yet. I don't even want to think about the seating arrangements yet!

Good luck!

Yeah thats right, yours is coming up real soon too...AHHHH well i also waited until just a few days after our RSVP date and hoping they would all come in, and here i am two weeks after the rsvp date and still unsure about a few people...Not to mention things changed, people coming then not coming, or not coming then coming, or bringing a date then not bringing and all that other crap lol.

Thanks, and good luck to you when making your seating chart, it is such a pain ...Fh just fixed it all though hahaha, ive called him SOOO many times, and he was just like ok put this one here and that one there and it worked out lol, well for now until we find out about the people were not sure about which can completely change everything hahahahaha

Some people can be so inconsiderate - I can't believe people are still not responding 2 weeks after the reponse date! I feel your pain though about people changing - two of my parents' friends responded no, but now they might be coming, and another couple responded yes, and now they might not be coming. It's crazy!

I know your e-party will be amazing! Good luck with everything!
