Is anyone else freaking out that they might not have their minimum?? I am worried about all of the out of town guests and my FH's family is not very close. We had originally upped our minimum for a lower price per head because we thought we would be ok. Now it is looking like we might not.. ahhh!

Re: Guest minimum
You can count your vendors. We have to guarantee 170 which I think we will be ok!

I'm having the same problem. I originally only wanted 100 guests, but when we booked the watermill the room for a saturday I had to guarantee 150. I'm hoping that along with including vendors, if i can't make it if i can just add on extras to make up the difference. Where r u getting married? Maybe ask if u can't make it if u can add on a vieneese hour or a seafood bar or something

We are getting married at East Wind.. I emailed the lady we have been working with and she said she is going to talk to her director and ask what they can do for us. I think we are going to send out our invitations earlier than normal so we can get a better idea of what we can expect.

How big is the difference in people you guaranteed versus people you're expecting? It may be worth it to lock in a slightly higher rate for a lower minimum? You still have a lot of time on your side which is good!

Sadly I think we are in the opposite direction. Started out wiht 150 and we are up to 220. To top it off, a lot that I thought wouldn't come, decided to book a room that night!

We negotiated for a 135 minimum. I'm sure we will meet it

Re: Guest minimum
I think we're probably okay in terms of our minimum, but we made up a 'B' list just in case and may send out the first round of invitations a bit early because of that.
I've also heard that brides on here offer to be seat fillers for other brides who haven't met their minimum, especially if there are other brides getting married at your RH after you.
However, I agree that if you're really nervous and have enough advance notice, it can't hurt to see if your RH will renegotiate the minimum/price per head.

I'm not sure well meet ours. We gauranteed 175. We are inviting 250 some OOT and some singles people with guests (not sure if they'll bring a guest). We dont have a b list so when the time comes I may be looking for seat fillers!

We have the same concern, many OOT guests (CT and NH so we have no idea who'll come). We have a minimum of 100 but if most of our families come, our guests could end up being 120 really - no idea yet who from OOT will come and it's frustrating. Thinking of polling my family in New Hampshire at Thanksgiving/Xmas time and asking who thinks they'll definitely come, or can't come, or might/doesn't know yet. Also thinking of making a B list and doing an earlier RSVP date. There are always seat fillers here on liweddings, as well.
Are you inviting the children in your families? At my venue, children above 5 count as a guest (but at half the pp price!). So children help fill out the guest list (and save you money) if you're not having an adult only reception.

Maybe I'm missing something, if you don't make your minimum don't you just pay for the minimum whether you have the guests or not? Like why would you need seat fillers?

Wow, our place kept lowering our minimum. First we had to have a 150 guarantee. Then when we talked again it went down to 130, and when we signed it went to a 120 minimum.

Whatever u guarentee fir that night u have to pay for it wether or not they come but sometimes the rh will work with u and just let u add on extras instead of the money going to waste
