Okay I am getting ready to address my invitations and I have a question to pose to some of you ladies.
I have a friend that I am definetly inviting - we have been friends for years and this person is close to some of my family. Anyway, it is well known that this person does go to weddings and enjoys them, but does not give a gift to the bride and groom (not even $25). If that is the way the person chooses to be like that - fine...I think its tacky. Anyway, I am inviting everyone with a guest and this person is single.....I don't want to invite this person with a guest, because I feel this person might respond with 2 and show up alone (has happened in the past) or even if this person does show up with someone, i won't know them so why should i have to pay for them. So I want to invite just this guest solo....
What would you do in my situation. My FH is all for whatever I choose. He first thought it was inappropriate, but I said well this person is inappropriate so why should I have to be.....
Opinions please...

Re: Guest Problem
I would DEFINITLY invite the person without a guest.... why should you invite with a guest if they are single?? esp. since you said shes has gone to wedding alone before and enjoyed herself this shouldnt be any different

Re: Guest Problem
We're inviting only people in relationships 'with guest.' You should definitely invite her solo.

Re: Guest Problem
Same here, we only invited someone with a guest if they were in a relationship.

Re: Guest Problem
We are inviting all single people with a guest - except for this person....I don't really care if they find out.....I just want to see if I am being unreasonable here.......

Re: Guest Problem
I think you could invite her with a guest, and if she responds with the guest, then just count her as one. If she brings the guest you can pay for them that night, or there may be a guest or two that don;t show up do to illness or something...

Re: Guest Problem
I agree with Stacey. If you're inviting everyone else with a guest, you should do the same for this person; it'll be awkward if you don't. We undercounted by about 2 for our wedding, in case someone couldn't come. We ended up going over by 4 (our place was great about it) and we didn't even end up having to pay for them.

Exactly.
No guest. So what if everyone is invited with guest. They won't all bring one, so he won't know he was the only one invited without a guest.

Re: Guest Problem
Everyone gets invited with a guest. Gift or no gift.
