At the reception, instead of the typical sign in book, I wanted to put together a photo album and have the guests sign next to our pictures in the album. I was thinking of doing this on Shutterfly. Has anyone done anything like this? Are the pages sooo glossy that you cant write on them? Any feedback on info on this would be soooo helpful! TIA Ladies!!!

my BFF did this for her wedding and had a BEAUUUUTIFUL photo album done from her photographer, with space for guests to sign....
sadly, a few jokers decided it would be funny to draw on the happy couple in a few of the pictures. needless to say, she greatly regrets the guestbook situation - although, i think the intent behind it is very nice! in this case, a few people ruined the whole thing for her... and some people forget to sign it all together.
i can't speak directly to shutterfly's photobooks as far is it would go for a guest book, but i think you would still be able to write in it. maybe supply fine tipped sharpies?
anyways thats my cautionary tale!!

I am doing the same thing for my guest book and shutterfly has a whole wedding section and girls that have done this before commented and looks like everyone loved them and had no problem with the writing. I had to engagement picture books made for our parents and they came out great! HTH

SHUTTERFLY IS GREAT!!! THEY COME OUT AWESOME!!!! That is so disrespectful what your friends guests did. I hope that doesnt happen to mine!!

i did mine on kodak gallery. it was easy and it worked great
the pages are the same quality as a 'yearbook', so its pretty easy to sign with any pen!

Yeah, it was definitely disrespectful, but I like to believe that the greater majority of people will only share great messages in the guest book!!

I just made a photo guest book on shutterfly with our e-pics and it came out amazing. I left every other page blank so there was plenty of room to sign.

i have done both shutterfly & snapfish
shutterfly is a lot better quality!
you can write on the pages - but i would purchase permanent markers that's what we're doing.

I did a shutterfly book for my RD. You can definitely write on them, but I'd recommend using a Sharpie.
