No, you could do a wish bowl of good wishes. Set up a wish bowl and little cards for people to write you good luck wishes and advice and then set them up in a scrapbook.

Re: Guestbook
I spent $85 on a guest book & $40 on a freaking pen. You know how many people signed it?

Re: Guestbook
I'm doing a photo guest book...I asked my MOH to make sure people sign it and during the reception she'll go to each table with it if it looks empty.

Maybe I won't do one. Rather spend the money elsewhere.

Re: Guestbook
I wasn't going to do one, but changed my mind at the last minute. I bought a journal at Barnes and Noble and glued one of our engagement photos in the front. Only about 5-6 people signed it. I am really glad I didn't spend a lot of time or money on it.
At other weddings I've been to, the photo mat and the wish bowl garner more responses.
