Do ya really need one??? I don't really like the store bought ones and I was going to do a DIY scrapbook style but I don't really have the time and now with all the other little stress bombs dropping ...it's like at the bottom of my list.... so is it really necessary??

Re: guestbook Q
I did it because I thought it looked pretty on the placecard table..but we bought a huge frame one and put a pic of us in the middle. it was really cute..now we have it hanging on the wall with the glass over it

Re: guestbook Q
Its not necessary-and I think it depends on the kind of guests that you have. It may be worthless b/c people wont sign it if other people are at it

Re: guestbook Q
We registered and received a gorgeous Vera Wang guest book, but I don't know how many people will actually sign it. I just couldn't resist.
FH did not want a sign-in board, so that is why we went with the book.

Re: guestbook Q
I never knew that people even had guestbooks at weddings until we got engaged!! So I asked a few friends & cousins, etc. and they told me that yes, they had had them. Based on my own experience, though, and the fact that they all told me they only had like 10-15 signatures, we decided not to do one...

Re: guestbook Q
I'm skipping it completely. I hate them at weddings, they slow everything down and create a bottleneck at the placecard table; every bride I know got like 10-20 signatures max. In most cases they've already written you a card with good wishes, you'll greet them during the night and get good wishes, and often the video will have 'best wishes' from different folks recorded. Soooo This is one item I am happy to forego!!!

Re: guestbook Q
We used the pages from an album guest book, placed pictures that I took of my Sister and her husband, bought wooden holders and placed them on the individual tables. We had a note saying to please write your good wishes for the happy couple around the perimeter of the photo.
Now they have these 'engagement pictures' in a pretty album that doubled as their guest book.

Re: guestbook Q
I wasnt going to do one because I thought it was a waste of money but MY MOTHER decided I needed to have one. I found out that I was right...it was a big waste. People signed it but whats the point?? I didnt do anything with it afterwards anyway!! A scrap book with a polaroid camera next to it would be more fun. Have your guests take a pic of themselves..tape it in the book and write you a little something! Otherwise...dont waste your time with it..just save the wedding cards if you want to read peoples names cuz thats all a sign in book ends up being!!!
