I have a feeling that one of my guests will bring along her 2 children, who are spoiled brats. Don't get me wrong...I love children, however I dislike the behaviors of uncontrolled, spoiled children, and I certainly do not want to be subjected to that on my wedding day.
I indicated 2 on the wedding invite...but I have a feeling she will ask to bring them or worse, bring them with only indicating 2 on th response card.
How can I tactfully handle the possibility of her asking to bring her children without me telling her that I do not want HER brats there ...period.

I think this is a good idea! We dont want any children either but there are some who keep pushing the topic and its gotten to the point where we had to get a bit nasty with them

Re: Guests bringing uninvited children
Yeah, I am worried about that too. I think I am just going to spead the word that we are not having any children there. If someone says they are bringing theres or asks to, I am just going to say, I am sorry, it wouldn't be fair to have your children there and not everyone elses. We also don't have anymore room at the hall.
At least I think that is similar to what I am going to say.

Re: Guests bringing uninvited children
A friend of mine had that happen to her. A distant cousin showed up at the reception with her uninvited kids in tow. She had to tell them that her and DH's own neices and nephews were not invited, so she could not allow them to stay and cause hard feelings. She ended up asking the waitstaff to wrap the cousins' meals and they left. People are so nervy!
I would definitely do like the previous posters said and casually bring it up. Or you can even be more straight forward and say 'People keep asking me if their children are invited! Can you believe that? We are having a no kids wedding! I thought that would be clear when the kids weren't sent an invitation!'

Re: Guests bringing uninvited children
Originally I didn't have a problem with children.. but I have one particular family member that has the devil's spawn ( God forgive me) ... but she really doesn't see that the child has a problem and lets him do as he pleases any where any time..... he does what he wants and he response to his behavior is 'he's just a kid'.... so my FH and I had to enforce the 'NO KIDS' rule for the wedding .....
And even then she has indicated that she may just have to bring him!!!!!!!! . ... so we are in the same boat!

IMO and ONLY MO, this is even more 'nervy' than just letting the kids stay... plus think about how the kids felt... they don't understand what's going on and why they can't go, especially after they are already there!
Another reason to make sure it's all cleared up BEFORE the wedding.

I would definitely bring it up before hand. You dont need any surprises that day. Maybe say that you're so happy she isn't giving you a hard time about bringing the kids. I think that'll give her the hint.
