Guilt?
Anyone else feel super guilty when you go to a meeting with a vendor and you know pretty quickly that you are not going to book with them? We went to Jay Lim this morning and I loved them...FH has a complete different idea of wedding pictures than I do. Went to the second appointment and I knew within minutes I didn't want to be there any longer but felt so sad for the guy and I wanted to cry...how are you all doing this??? I feel like such a baby!

Omg I feel the same way. Is there a nice way to say thanks but no thanks? I end up sitting through their whole speech just because I feel bad and can't wait to get out of there.

I hate feeling 'trapped' in a conversation or anything before saying thanks but no thanks.. It has to be done but I do feel bad.

I always have FH do it if he's there, but I have no problem telling them they do beautiful work, but it's just not what I'm looking for. It's not just wasting your time, but their time also.It may suck the first few times, but it gets easier every time.

Ugghhhhhhh, I HATE that. Luckily this has only happened with two vendors so far where I knew within minutes (and in one case, the second I walked in) that this was NOT for me.

I havent really had that experience because I know how awkward I would feel in the meetings. I do A LOT of behind the scenes research-- their website for product/package details and prices, liweddings to fill in any missing information, additional google searches, wedding showcases etc. By that time, I am pretty certain I am going with that vendor. That is how I have chosen my DJ, photo/video, and dress store.I do recall that feeling though when picking a venue.. you walk in and know its not for you, but you have to go through the half hour tour and package details...usually by the time they say their price I stop feeling guilty!

I HATE this! I feel bad also because then I think about the fact that they're working to try and sell me on their service and I already know it's not going to work. Luckily this only happened to me once. I ended up sitting through the 1/2 hour presentation. When he asked if I had any questions I just thanked him and said no & that he was very helpful and got out of there!

This happened to me ONE time at a venue. I knew after we saw the place we didn't want to hear anymore. Needless to say, we were stuck there for like another 45 minutes listening to the guy talk about the menu and what he'll throw in if we book. I couldn't stop staring at things on his wall and at pictures on his desk. I didn't feel bad because he was a terrible BM, but it was terrible to have to stay there!

Luckily... this has only been the case once for me. The photographer. We saw the first photographer and we KNEW he was the one. FH actually text me during the meeting and was like 'him'. The reason we didn't cancel with the second photographer was because it was the very next day and I didn't want to be rude and cancel on short notice. I felt bad when he called me to follow up and I just told him that FH and I hadn't made up our minds yet.

Glad I'm not the only one. I felt so bad, luckily they played butterfly kisses on the sample video and I started crying for both feelings. Maybe I'm PMS'ing!?Welcome New Vendors
