Guilt about where to order dress....

I tried on my dress at Macy's but it was about $300 more than at Flowerama. Where I would really have to pay would be the alterations. I was told they had no cap they charge by the item. I would have ended up paying about $500 in alterations alone. At Flowerama there is a $150 alteration cap so I ordered it from them.

You sound like me...I always feel bad about having someone help me out and then I end up feeling so guilty for going somewhere else and finding it cheaper...I end up going with the person that helped me rather than getting it for cheaper...I can' t help it...I'm a sucker like that...

As hard as it would be I would prob try getting them to match the price that you find for less...if they can't do that you could send a little thank you note to the sales girl that helped you out the first time...I'm sure she'd appreciate it and understand your decision...

This was at the Macy's at Herald Square. I don't know if their policy is different from the other stores. The lady that helped me did say that they 'used to' have a cap on alterations but they discontinued that practice.

totally try to negotiate and see if they'll match the price, or throw something in, like a veil or something. if they won't then go to the cheaper place!
