Gym membership prices

I looked at a few around RVC, Sky, Bally's, Dolphin, and some random one lol.

How much do you think is too much to pay?

I wouldn't pay NYSC prices, like $75 or more, but I guess it depends what you are getting. I pay $42/mo at Twin Park in Floral Park/NHP area.

first of all, find out if your health insurance covers any of it (mine covers up to $200 of gym memberships per year)

i used to belong to Bally's ... it's a decent gym and are the cheapest but as a result, EVERYBODY joins that gym and it's constantly packed. but that was fine for me cause i'm a cheap @ss

It all depends on what you're getting. I pay $20 at Retro Fitness and it has all new equipment (love the machines with the TV's built on) and isn't packed out but has no classes. I was a member of LA Fitness and paid $50 but it had a pool, sauna, basketball and racquetball courts, classes, and was just so nice.

i think NYSC is the most expensive. Im payin $70 a month there but for me its got the most to offer. Check with your job bc they may have connections to gyms and offer discounts on the memberships.

I pay 35 at xsport fitness at roosevelt field. Just to let anyone know, many gyms give a discount if you are a student. I get 15 bucks off my membership because of my ID

I'm not a student. Regular membership is $49 there. Not bad though. It's the best gym I've ever been to.

I was a member at the College Point Dolphin for the past 7 or 8 years - I paid $33 a month and I think the original fee to join was like 200-300. But again that was a while ago and Dolphin is no LAF of NYSC!

I pay $34/month at Symgery and I love it there. I go to the one in Levittown but I know there a bunch around Nassau.

I pay $59 a month for New York Health & Racquet Club. It's ok, but it's like 3 blocks away from home and next to the supermarket so I can bring home dinner. It's also where FH belonged when we first started dating. He's at NYSC and he doesn't pay $70 per month, I think his is closer to $50-$60 per month.

I pay 39.99 a month for Synergy, the one in Franklin Square.....I should be going back (clearing my throat) this week, but still have not done so....

I have a planet fitness membership. I have the $20 membership w/ unlimited guest privileges but you can get the regular membership for only $10.
