Re: Gymboree
I went to the Gym Babies class with my son to try it out for free and while it was good, I wasn't overly impressed enough to join. The class was geared 50% towars infant play and 50% towards mom bonding. It really isn't worth the money IMO for the gym babies class...we can sing songs for free at home.

Re: Gymboree
I've been taking classes with DS since he was 4 months old. I've never gone to Gymboree it's to expensive and I hate the fact that it's in the mall. But right now DS and I go to Doodle Bugs Gym in Carle Place. It's alot of fun and Aidan loves it, but it is for older babies. But DS and I did swimming class when he was really little and he loved it. They're at Saf T swim there are several locations all over Long Island. It's nice you swim around with the babies and play with toys and they kick and slash it was alot of fun. We are going to take another swim class when it gets warmer out. I think they start for 2 months old and up. It was great. And if your a first timer they only charge you like $35 for 6 weeks!!!

I agree. Luke's 2 1/2 now and we just finished our first Gymboree 'semester' last week. I cant see spending $300 unless they are seriously getting something out of it. To go once a week for 45 minutes averages out to about $20 a class at Gymboree. He got to use their open play sessions alot too and run around so it worked out that we got our moneys worth. But JMO, I couldnt see paying that for a small infant (younger than 6m). But I do know some Moms do it to meet other Moms with babies. My library has a free Mommy and me that I use to go to with my son when he was smaller. See if your library has it.

Re: Gymboree
I think it really depends on what you want out of it. If you're looking to spend some time with your child and meet other women, it's a great experience. But if you already have a lot of playdates, etc and friends with kids, it may not be worth it.
I go to a gym class with my daughter and it's great. It is pricey but so much fun to see her explore each week and I've met a few nice ladies there

Re: Gymboree
I take a gym class with Claire and I really like it. It is a bit pricey, but since I work during the week I like to have a special activity that we do together, outside the house. And she seems to enjoy it too. It is all about what you want to get out of it. I also took the Saf-t-swim class with her and that was great, it is affordable and she had a blast in the water, and she was only 2-3 months at the time!
