In regards to the drinks & what not on the cruise...You will always incur extras anywhere you go unless it is inclusive...

We did a week cruise & spend $1K between the two of us on drinks, bingo, 2 excursions, professional pictures...Most cruises have a value card (pay one price, one time) for soda & you carry the cup & it is free the rest of the trip!

But you spend whatever you want on the extras!!!! They run specials on drinks & they are like $2!!!

thanks i was looking for some 'pricing' on what we would spend. frank didn't think he and his friend spent more than 1,000.

this one is for 11 nights...

i just put a hold on the last available cabin with no obstruction....

I think you are doing a GREAT thing!!! Like I said, you can spend as much & as little as you want! We spent $1K too bc we bought every picture they took of us Never would do that again but I was a cruise rookie

That is the cruise on Royal, right? I just saw how booked up it is!!!!! Just looked at the time schedule in the ports! Boy you have MORE then enough time in each!!!!

Aloha Date Twin!

i think one of the bad parts of a cruise is that you and FH will constantly be getting on and off the ship, will have to think of activities etc and you want your room to be nice and big and comfortable, with jacuzzi tubs and all!

Sorry but I'm very impartial to Cruises!!! I feel like they're the best of both worlds because you get to see a lot but in a relaxed environment. This would be a great first experience! What cruiseline by the way?
Good Luck Date Twin!

I have friends who swear by cruises but if the weather is bad you skip ports- one friend was supposed to go to the bahamas but ended up in Nova Scotia due to weather. Plus, I want free time to wander and not worry about being on the dock in time-if I want to be lazy and stay in the room, etc.

Plus, be careful about where the cruie line is registered-they don't have to follow US rules and I heard recent horror stories that will keep me off cruises for a while. I don't want to upset those who have cruises booked but FM me if you want to.

Either way, I agree that the extra flight time makes Hawaii something to do now without kids and you can take the expense a little better now-not later where there are more bills, kids etc. I didn't want anything on this cost for my HM (but the way it's going I'll end up in the FL Keys!).

Either way- it's your HM do what YOU prefer. Enjoy!

i am not a fan of cruises, neither is fh. we went on 2 (rc and ncl) and we didn't care for either too much. we felt stuck on the boat, it was always crowded, had to get to shows early for ok seats, people were annoying, rc had assigned seating which worked with our big group, however prob wouldn't work well for honeymooners who might have to share a table w/strangers every night, ncl had freestyle dining but if you go at normal dining times its crowded and you have to wait, only at each port for a bit so you need good time management and i would rather not rush back to a boat...i could go on, but its just my opinion. so many people looooove them. if you can afford and want to go to hawaii i say go for it! good luck! ~lacey
