H-Moon...what do you think?

H-Moon...what do you think?

FH and I always wanted to go to Italy for our honeymoon - but since we are getting married and would be honeymooning the last week in march and the first week in april, i thought it was out of question....

So, I'm poking around and found a Sicily tour (he's Sicilian) that sounds amazing with WINTER prices and they first tour leaves on Monday night (overnight flight). So it's perfect for us since we'll need to get back to Jersey after the wedding.

All the other tours leave on Thursdays... anyways, here are the highlights... this tour operator only books 20 people on a tour.

But do you think it's not honeymoon-y enough?

It sounds wonderful. I'm sure there will be a number of other honeymooners on the tour as well. I say go for it!!!

We're doing a Med. cruise (I definitely wanted to see Venice) but all the cruises left the Sun. after our wedding (w/ an overnight flight, etc., no happening). Carnival just added a ship & it leaves on Tuesday. We are so thrilled!

I wanted Italy, too, but it's cold there in Feb!

It's a beautiful country and I think it sounds honeymoony enough!!!

I say go for it! Only thing to think about...The high temps in Sicily in March are only 59! So if you want something warmer, then Italy is not the answer

I'm not 100% into wanting to spend the h-moon on the beach anymore...

Looking at a lot of prices, I'd rather spend the money and see some cool stuff.

Then do a beachie vacation later on...

Ok, time to show FH! Hope he doesn't shoot it down!

Good luck! Honeymoon's are all about preferences! FH & toyed with the idea of doing the cruise but FH didn't want to be on a time schedule...So for us, we wanted relaxation & the freedom of our time...

Trust me though, I wish we could do Italy or Greece...But I think we are going to save our free HM from FT in Greece for our 1 yr anniversary!

Re: H-Moon...what do you think?

FH & I are also planning on going to Italy...
We've decided to not do a tour...we just want to be able to take our time and see different places...
the tour highlights seem really nice...I think it depends on what you guys want to do...if you decide to do a tour you have to keep in mind that you are on their time frame and that you'll be on the run if you want to be able to go and come as you please you really won't be able too...jmo...I would go and talk to a travel agent and see what they would recommend you must see...(Taromina is BEAUTIFUL that should def be on your list )and then from there see if you guys would have a better time doing it yourselves or if you would feel more comfortable doing it with a tour...

Re: H-Moon...what do you think?

I LOVE ITaly and actually prefer most of Europe in the cooler months (less tourists, less expensive, more bang for your (declining) dollar)

I was just in Sicily over Christmas...the days were beautiful, 60's and the nights go cooler. for me, it was perfect.

Taormina, Siracusa, Catania, Messina...just on the east coast there are so many things to see- plus all of the small towns dotting Mt. Etna

Even in the north it's awesome. yes, it's cold ( about the same as here) but it is so vibrant- and soccer season to boot!!)

you can do that whole tour on your own with a good guidebook and little patience, and the internet...

and, oh yes, if all else fails, tell FH about the
little thermal island of Ischiahttp://www.ischiaonline.it/

that sounds awesome-I've been to Italy twice both times in March/April....it's a bit chilly & windy during that time so pack your sweaters and coat!

but sounds beautiful
