Had my first fitting...

But forgot the camera! I actually went in to this seamstress to get a quote and ending up really liking her so I got on my shoes and tried on my dress. I love it so much! Especially 12 pounds lighter than when I first got it
I will post pics after I go back next week.

I thought the quote was a little high but what do I know. She charged me $130 for the hem and bustle. Is that really high? ON the plus side I loved how she is going to do the bustle= its in three parts.

No I don't think so--I know that where I got my dress the busstle is $125

Thanks for reading through my long post and letting me know. I thought it sounded reasonable but I really didn't know. She came highly recommended so I willing to splurge even if she was high.

i think thats pretty average. I paid $100, but had a very plain bustle (just hooked in one spot)

ETA: that price also included the hem

that sounds about right for alterations, i think i paid the same thing for a hem and bustle. Did the slip work out?

Laura- I didn't use the slip= the seamstress said I didn't need it. But thanks for it anyway- I really didn't know if I would.

And trust me, I am not going to disappear away anytime soon Plenty of fat rolls to go around!
