Had My IVF Consult Today

I posted this on NWR by accident...

And whoa!!! Lots of stuff to digest!!!

They said we can start as soon as July 9th, but I'm not ready, and I want to wait until the new insurance kicks in. My parents are both pressuring us to start right away. Scott starts his new job tomorrow so I guess we'll find out how long it will take.

Anyway, they took FIVE vials of blood from both of us! Poor Scott! He was not prepared for that...LOL.

I would wait until the new insurance kicks in or else they can say it is a pre-exsting condition and not cover any of it.
And don't let anyone pressure you and DH. This is a very personal decision and you need to research and understand ALL options.

Best of luck Lisa!!!!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you whenever YOU are ready (you and Scott are the most important - you have to be ready for it, even though others might want you to start now).......

Michele, my parents don't want me to wait, and they want to pay for it!!

I'm lucky enough that they are in a position to do so, but I told them I would rather let insurance pay for it and G-d forbid it doesn't work the first time, they can pay for the second.

They are worried that something else will go wrong in the time I am waiting for the insurance to kick in...

Lisa- glad to hear things are moving along! That is great. You and Scott must be getting excited. Have you thought of calling the new insurance company to investigate the benefits and process for covering IVF? May save time if you are prepared- just an idea. Good luck!

We're so excited!!

The drug company just called today and I ordered everything and it came to $142.50! That's $5000 worth of drugs!! I was nervous that our insurance wouldn't cover it!!
