ok so tonight was my second fitting. the dress fit much better and needed to be taken in a little more but looked good.
however...my mom was with me and when we left she was like asking me to be honest how i feel about the dress bc she doesnt get the feeling i love it. Shes right...i mean i like the dress a lot and its beautiful, but i guess i never 'loved' it...i have just been trying to convince myself i love it.
sooo i dont know what to do. I mean with less than 38 days to go she said she would do whatever i wanted....If i want to go looking for gowns off the rack that could be altered in time she will do it. But i dont know if its worth it...i dont even know what I'd be looking for.
ahhh what should i do?! just wear the dress and accept that im not IN love with it? or go CRAZY trying to find a new gown and have it altered in like a month?

Honeslty - I think you should look but only look at samples that you will be able to alter.
I would hate for you to fall in love with something that theres no chance u getting in time

are you willing to deal with the stress of finding a dress and getting it altered wihin the timeframe? if you have to budget for it, y not go for it. have you thought about the fact that you might not find anything that you love better than this dress?

I'm sorry you're having second thoughts. If it's the dress in your album it's absolutely ridiculously GORGEOUS and I'm certain you will look amazing in it.
But you have to feel amazing. However that happens, whenever that happens.
I went through tons of doubts about my dress. But I kept thinking back to the first time I put it on and how amazing and bride-like I felt in it. So in the end, even when I felt like I should've taken more time and done more searching... I relied on my original gut reaction. And, boy, DH loved it. He thought I was the most beautiful bride in the world.
You are a beautiful person and will be a stunning bride. I hope you feel better about your dress or find a solution to this nagging feeling. But know that it's totally normal to wonder!!! Just try not to stress. You do not need any more stress now!!!

If you don't love it I say maybe take some time and look. You're tiny so you'll definitely find something off the rack that you can get altered. Take a weekend or two and just go crazy and look. It's worth it... maybe you'll find something and maybe you won't but in the end you'll know you tried. It was like that EoM dress... I HAD to find it to try it on before I could commit to my other dress. It doesn't hurt to look. And Kell, you will look gorgeous in ANYTHING you wear.
I'll be in the city tomorrow if you want some help looking and believe it or not a completely FREE weekend (for a change!!!!).

aw kelley, go and look around a bit, maybe you won't find anything and you will get more excited about your dress.
my older sister got a new dress with 6 weeks to her wedding because the dress she ordered come in in a size 2 and she ordered a 12, and the dress was disco'ed so we went looking for a dress and she found the PERFECT dress 6 weeks before her wedding.

the shop is closed now, it was a small bridal shop in northport - at the time they had just got sample dresses in and she bought the sample, she was the first one to try it on
call some stores and see if they can get some designers in quickly

is it possible you dont love it b/c it doesnt fit you yet? why did you buy it/
i know for me, i probaBLY dont look in love b/c im so nervous about alterations and really critical about all the tiny points
but it is the dress im going to wear, and i cant even imagine looking again (it was frustrating enough the first time)
but maybe check out DB....if you fall in love, awesome. if not, you will still totally rock your dress

could you do both? you dont hate your dress now so thats good. :) but if you have some time to spare (which i know is hard to come by at this point)- go dress shopping and poke around. try things on and maybe you will find one that needs minimal alterations! if it is meant to be, you will find something better! if not, then relax and enjoy the perfectly fine dress you have now. it will work out!

Oh kelley i am so sorry :( at this point it doesnt hurt to look, because youll still have your dress (which is beautiful) if you dont find something you love more..but i would def only try on dresses in small sizes that could def be altered in time-im free sunday morning if you want me to go with you..
I know lilettes has small sizes, because i tried on my dress ina 4, which is the size they ordered for me..maybe try rk during your lunch break tomorrow?
Just know that even if you dont find a dress you love more, you are going to be a beautiful bride-i seriously cannot wait for your wedding, i am so,so excited for it

I don't know if I would be stressing myself out this close to the wedding looking for another dress. Be sure that you really don't want to wear your current dress...if you absolutely can't see yourself wearing it, then I guess looking is your only option. Just don't stress yourself out too much....you are supposed to be having a good time right now. You are getting married soon!!!

ita... browse dresses that youd be able to buy the sample for... and if nothing catches your eye you can at least rest assured, and if something does im sure theyll be able to alter it in time

i think you should at least go look and see what else is out there. your dress is beautiful but having that dress doubt in the back of your mind and not doing anything about it can def. drive you crazy.

I feel your pain because I am kinda in the same boat. I like my dress but don't really 'love it'. I gained some weight over the holidays and vented here about it but now lost it so I can fit into it..A few weeks ago I was ready to put my dress on Craigslist for sale because I was really not 'feeling' it..
but I decided to stay with the dress for several reasons: 1- my mom paid for it and I really dont want to fork over 1K or more for a dress 2- I dont have the time to try gowns on AGAIN..that means one whole Saturday running from store to store searching for dresses... 3- the time frame for alterations would be tight,...
plus, its just 1 day..the other option is getting a 2nd dress so that you can just wear the 1st dress for the ceremony, and then get a 2nd dress that you REALLY love for the Reception.....I may actually do this but the 2nd dress is either from a Pre-owned gown site or the clearance rack at Davids Bridal...lol.
