Had my tasting at Atlantica - plus notes on accomodations
Hi!
I had my tasting at Atlantica on Saturday. It was great! I love the wedding coordinator Jennifer Jacobs. She's really great to work with. I am so happy with our choice to get married there. I really wish the wedding was next week!
I also went to check out places to stay while we are out there. I looked at The Inn at Quogue and A Victorian on the Bay. The Inn is great. Looks like a perfect place for a whole group of us to stay. Good range of prices. Friendly staff.
I went to look at A Victorian on the Bay as a possibility for our wedding night. From the second we pulled up, the proprietor was incredibly rude. We parked in front of the b & b and the woman immediately came down the steps - but not to greet us. She had a nasty expression on her face. I greeted her and told her that I was getting married at Atlantica in November and was looking for places to stay. I asked if we might look around. She cut me off and said they were completely booked right now and it was impossible. I asked if she might have a brochure I could look at. She handed me one while basically pushing me out the door. I said the I was considering places for my wedding night and looking for a very nice place to stay. She immediately said they have a two night minimum all year around. I was completely shocked. First, weddings are big business and I can't imagine this woman is going to be full in November. If she had been nice at all, it's possible she could have had a full inn for the weekend. Second, I feel like a wedding night is something special. I would think that it would provoke at least a nice comment. I decided at this point that I wouldn't book here no matter what as the woman had been completely unwelcoming and I was looking for some pampering after my wedding. My FMIL then asked if they had a restroom she might use as we were starting our trip back to NYC. The woman said no and that they were for guests only. I wanted to spread the word as their website is quite attractive but after the incredibly impolite treatment, I wouldn't stay there - ever.
