Re: Had my work shower...

Have an etiquette question on this. I haven't invited any coworkers to my wedding, just some bosses. I feel my coworkers are going to throw me something (gee, is it b/c today someone asked me where I was registered and when I was getting married?) However, would they feel it was slighting them that they don't get an invite iffen they DO throw me something? I am so shy about it and feel embarrassed. What do you think?

I didn't invite ANYONE from the office to the reception. An open invitation to the church is what I gave them. They understood that and they threw me one anyway which was really nice. I wouldn't worry about it. Do they know they're not going to be invited?

My FAMILY bridal shower was fish themed, I attached the invitation. My co-workers knew I loved fish so they gave me all OTHER fish stuff I hadn't gotten.

Re: Had my work shower...

Unfortunately, I don't have wiggle room w/ inviting to the church b/c the ceremony and reception are at the same place. I don't think they're expecting an invite, as it's mid-Oct. and my wedding's end of Nov., but you never know. I am just so sheepish about it. I think they'd understand, but I still feel so badly about not being able to invite everyone I know and love. I don't 'love' my coworkers - we're merely coworkers & get along and hadn't thought to invite them until we started planning and I started to realize that people expect things and...of course...we can't please everyone. However, when I had a few acquaintances make assumptions, I felt horribly b/c they weren't on the invite list & I felt flattered that they even cared to join us. It ain't easy, right?
