Did you 'haggle' at all??? Is it expected to negotiate or do you just accept their price quote???

Re: Haggling for Price per Person???
Harrison house was $180/head but they came down to $170/head for me if I gave them a 200 person minimum.
They came down on my extras as well, like instead of $15/head for the raw bar, they gave it to me for $10/head.
They reduced my chocolate fountain from $1200 to $1000 and are giving me a second one for $800 (white chocolate).
They reduced my extra 1/2hr of cocktail hour from $500 to $300.
They threw in an extra pasta station for free.
They reduced the 4th entree choice from $15/head to $10/head.
We haggled a bit!!! It was so easy too, I thought we would have to argue with them but it wasn't so bad at all!!! We left there really happy.

it cant hurt to negotiate , the worst that could happen is that they say No...

We haggled and got $5 off per person as long as we guaranteed 125 people.

At our site there was no haggling. I honestly felt like we got every pennies worth.
I guess it's worth a shot, but I felt like many places would have turn us down because someone else would pay the standard amount.

We didn't haggle the price, but haggled what was added on for that price. We also got the bigger room for a smaller guarantee.

Re: Haggling for Price per Person???
I think it also depends when you are getting married. If you are getting married a very popular weekend, I think they are less likely to negotiate because they know there are others out there lined up to pay full price. Our BM negotiated a little on the price, but mainly threw things in and we negotiated a lower minimum. It's worth a shot. Like all the others have said, the worst they could say is no. Try it. You have nothing to lose.

In my experience, you can always negotiate. They won't turn you down for someone else. The worst thing that could happen is they say they can't go any lower and you just decide if you want to accept that price or not.
